The Dredge Research Collaborative is seeking summer intern-collaborators in NYC to study and document sediment management and design practices across America’s four coasts. Working with DRC members, interns will participate in a visual research workshop that culminates in an exhibition at DredgeFest Great Lakes in August of 2015. Interns will also assist in the documentation and synthesis of previous DredgeFest events in Louisiana and New York, and may participate in field investigations of dredge landscapes in the greater NYC area.

The workshop will meet three to four days a week in Brooklyn, NY from mid June to late August during the summer of 2015. The internship is unpaid; housing in NYC may be provided by a separate entity. Vehicular transportation and lodging at DredgeFest Great Lakes will be provided at no cost to interns. The Dredge Research Collaborative is an all-volunteer non-profit organization; participating as an intern-collaborator is an opportunity to interact with a national network of landscape architects, architects, and writers interested in sediment practices.

Our ideal candidates are current students or recent graduates in landscape architecture, architecture, urban design, and related disciplines. Applicants should be self motivated, collaborative, and have strong visual research and drawing skills.

To apply, send a cover letter, resume, and work samples to drc@dredgeresearchcollaborative.org AND genevawirth@gmail.com. Applications should not exceed 10 MB. Applications will be accepted and reviewed on a rolling basis until May 15th at 5pm.
